A sweater begins long before it takes shape

savoir-faire

For us, craftsmanship begins with knowing how to choose.

A yarn can be extraordinary, but you need to understand its character, know how it will respond to processing, and choose a construction that brings out the best in it.

 Conoscere la materia

Yarn type, number of plies, machine gauge, tension, and finishing profoundly affect the weight, volume, hand, and appearance of the knit.

That’s why we don’t choose just a fiber.

We choose what we want to achieve with that fiber.

 Craft a sweater

Before becoming a garment, a knit is made through a series of decisions.

On the flat knitting machine, the panels that make it up are knitted separately, following precise proportions, stitches, and tensions.

Then comes linking: the different pieces are joined stitch by stitch, following the individual loops.

These are steps that often go unseen.

But you can feel them when you wear the garment.

We don't pursue softness at any cost

An extremely soft hand feel can also be achieved through intensive finishing.

We prefer to preserve the structure of the fiber and knit more.

With use, cashmere opens up, softens, and gradually develops its own character.

We care less about making an impression at first touch. We care more about how a knit will feel over time.

Value also lies in what cannot be seen

A neckline that holds its shape.
A hem that retains its elasticity.
A shoulder that falls correctly.
A stitch suited to the yarn.

These are small details, but they’re what set a well-constructed garment apart.

 Knowledge that continues

Technologies change, yarns evolve.

The difference still comes down to the ability to observe, recognize, and correct.

Preserve what the past has taught us to make today’s product better.
